The Hunt for Crimson Dawn is the first Crimson Reign anthology and collects the first five volumes of Vader previously published in the monthly issue. Why doesn’t it happen all at once? Well, on the other hand, maybe because the series isn’t quite finished yet and the monthly volumes are still running. On the other hand, you can of course get the most out of the volumes, though you also have to give credit to the fact that the anthology only had 6 volumes in it overall.

You can’t complain about the graphics, because the characters look plastic and you can even see emotions in helmeted characters like Vader. In other respects, too, the action is “close to the person” and you don’t have to complain about the abundance of details.

Although the plot is in terms of Vader chasing Crimson Dawn, he gets away from it afterward. A defect that has already appeared in the monthly volumes and will become more evident in the second part in particular. But we also have fan service par excellence, because not only is Ochi from Bestoon part of the party again (well, he’s from Episode IX, which probably isn’t such a blatant fan service), but above all there are memories of Padmés and with him, the appearance of Sabé is not connected Only in competitions. Of course, characters like Sly Moore and various bounty hunters also appear, all ensnared in the hunt.

It’s fun sometimes, but the real dynamics only unfold when you play Vader and Sabé later on. Will Vader kill her? Are their declarations of loyalty serious? Reader expectations are subtly gamed here, though there’s no denying that the two somehow grow together.

Finally, there’s a very special brawler that has already raised mouths open in the monthly volumes: Sabbie knows Vader’s true identity. And that’s exactly where the volume ends – and those just looking at the anthology will have to wait a little longer for this story to be resolved. so mean!
