Peter Phillips hailed as the Queen’s ‘special’ grandson

Insiders have claimed Peter Phillips is considered the Queen’s “special” grandson, despite Prince Harry saying he shares a “really special” bond with his grandmother.

Prince Harry spoke about the Queen’s “sense of humor” in an interview with NBC earlier this week, and of his 96-year-old grandmother, he said: “Her sense of humor and her ability to see humor in many different things.

“We have a really special relationship.

“We talk about things that you can’t talk about with anyone else.”

However, royal expert Richard Kaye reports that insiders have told him that if there was a “special someone” among her grandchildren, it would be Princess Anne’s son, Peter Phillips – not Harry.

Kaye said the Queen has “always been careful to avoid any accusations of favoritism when it comes to her grandchildren”.

Mr Kay added in the Daily Mail: “She has always been close to Peter and admires the way he and his sister Zara are treated as grandchildren of the King but without royal titles.

“She thinks Peter especially has inherited the resilience that defines Anne.

“She sees him as reliable.”
