Are you ready to breathe some fresh air in a world surrounded by chaos? Keen Games has released the long-awaited “Back to the Shroud” update, bringing with it a number of exciting new features.
What level of difficulty should it be?
One of the biggest innovations is the new difficulty levels. Whether you prefer to stroll through the landscape in a relaxed manner or face difficult battles – now there is a mode for everyone. Naturally, the standard mode remains, but for those who want to take things a little easier, there is the “comfortable” mode. Here you will find fewer opponents and more resources – perfect for leisurely base builders.
However, if you’re looking for a challenge, you’ll enjoy the “Hard” mode. More opponents, more aggression – this is where combat specialists really get their money’s worth. And for the tougher ones among you, there’s the “Survival” mode. In addition to tougher opponents, additional survival mechanics come into play.
Find your own sense of the game.
The best thing about the new difficulty levels? You can customize them to your liking! There are over 30 settings available to customize your gaming experience. Among other things, enemy damage, boss health, skills, and hunger mode can be adjusted, similar to other survival games, right down to the duration of boosts, the length of day and night cycles, and the duration of fog. Some settings can be increased by up to 500%. The new difficulty levels will be available in both solo and co-op modes.
New for decor lovers
One of the most notable features of the update is the new decoration options. There are now “found objects” hidden throughout Ember Valley that you can use to decorate the interior of your home. From antique vases to mysterious artifacts, there’s plenty to discover and collect. This means your base will not only be functional, but also truly eye-catching!
More character customization options
Anyone who likes to customize their character will be happy with the expanded character customization options. There are new skin tones, eye colors, and eyebrows that give your hero or heroine a unique look. You can also now easily change entire armor sets – perfect if you want to automatically change your appearance.
Keen Games listens to community feedback and continues to improve the combat system. Dodging and blocking in particular have been improved, as has the balance between the different classes.
Exclusive rewards
Shortly after the update is released, there will be Twitch Drops that will give you exclusive rewards. So it pays to keep your eyes peeled and participate in the streams!
The Keen Games team is also planning more major updates for this year. New features, revisions, and additional content are already in the works. So things are still exciting in a world surrounded by.
Enshrouded is currently in Early Access on Steam and has already built a fan base. The game has been rated “Very Positive” on Steam. A full release and console versions are planned for 2025.
