Soon, players will be able to play Overwatch together across platforms. Source: Blizzard
As Blizzard just announced, Overwatch will get cross-play support in June. For the first time, players will be able to play together across platforms. This is made possible by the latest Battle.net update. This makes it possible to unite efforts all over the world and regardless of the platform used. For now, the new functionality is starting as a multiplayer beta.
With the new global update, friend lists for different regions will be combined so that players on Battle.net do not have to switch between regions to play with their friends on the other side of the planet.
Overwatch Crossplay
In order to release the cross-play functionality in Overwatch, all players must create a Battle.net account and link their console accounts to Battle.net. Until December 31, 2021, in celebration of the release of Crossplay Beta, players will receive a Gold Loot Chest when linking and logging into Overwatch. Blizzard provides console players with step-by-step instructions on how to do this: Link your console account to your Battle.net account
Overwatch’s Crossplay Beta will officially launch on June 22 for PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox.
