This is the article submitted by Sorae on September 24, 2022”Neptune as seen by the James Webb Space Telescope]picture. The near infrared camera “NIRCam” was used for photography.

The reason its color is different from the “neptune blue” we usually see is because the Webb Space Telescope mainly observes infrared wavelengths. The human eye cannot see infrared light, so the image is colored red, green, orange and blue according to the four different filters used during its acquisition.

Neptune’s largest moon is the brightest at the top left.TritonHe is. Triton’s surface is covered in intense nitrogen ice, which reflects on average 70 percent of the sunlight that strikes it. Compared to Neptune, which appears darker because methane strongly absorbs near-infrared light, the Triton in this image isIt looks brighterthat it.
