MSI has previewed six new Quantum Dot OLED (QD-OLED) displays, just days after Dell showed off the Alienware AW2725DF and Alienware AW3225QF. In a press release, MSI explained that all displays will be based on “the latest generation QD-OLED panels,” albeit without providing any details. However, I have clarified some details about all MAG and MPG displays, such as their sizes, resolutions and refresh rates, which are as follows:
- MPG 271QRX QD OLED
- 2,560 x 1,440 (WQHD), 360Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms response times
- MPG 321URX QD OLED
- 3,840 x 2,160 (4K) resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms response times
- MPG 491CQP QD OLED
- 5,120 x 1,440 (DQHD), 1800R curvature, 144Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms response times
- MAG 271QPX QD OLED
- 2,560 x 1,440 (WQHD), 360Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms response times
- Mag 321UPX QD OLED
- 3,840 x 2,160 (4K) resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms response times
- MAG 341CQP QD OLED
- 3,440 x 1,440 (UWQHD), 1800R curvature, 144Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms response times
Additionally, MSI states that the MAG 341CQP QD-OLED and MPG 491CQP QD-OLED will be VESA certified for ClearMR 9000 and DisplayHDR True Black 400, but not any of the other four MAG or MPG QD-OLED displays. The pair will also support full USB Type-C and HDMI 2.1 connectivity. Hence, both displays will be compatible with current generation gaming consoles. Unfortunately, there’s no information on whether either will have DisplayPort 2.0 or DisplayPort 2.1 ports.
Furthermore, MSI states that all displays feature OLED Care 2.0 technology, a fanless solution that uses graphene film for “effective and silent heat dissipation” to maximize the life of the OLED panel. The company is less clear about the feature set of other upcoming QD-OLED displays, with all of them not necessarily offering MSI Gaming Intelligence, MSI Controller Mode, and 90W USB Type-C power delivery.
