MediaTek has added two systems on a chip (SoC) to the Helio G SOC series, the Helio G96 and Helio G88. The company claims that the Helio G series will allow manufacturers to deploy next-generation devices with high-level imaging capabilities and powerful display features.
Features of MediaTek Helio G96 SoC
It supports 120Hz Full HD+ screens that allow for smoother scrolling of web pages and for in-app motions. Helio G96 120Hz display support has unlimited DDIC power, C-phy or D-phy interface. It supports AMOLED and LCD screens and also supports cameras up to 108MP for detailed images.
The Helio G96 SoC features the fast integration of the Cat-13 4G LTE WorldMode that promotes even faster 4G speeds. It supports 4G Dual SIM as well as VoLTE and ViLTE services. It comes with a smart resource management engine and networking engine. The chipset also includes MediaTek HyperEngine 2.0 Lite gaming technology.
Features of MediaTek Helio G88 SoC
It supports 90Hz displays and has an octa-core processor with dual Arm Cortex-A75 processors clocked at up to 2.0GHz, for faster interactions and faster app and photo loading.
SoC G88 supports a hardware depth engine to capture dual-camera bokeh, main cameras up to 64MP, camera control unit (CCU), electronic image stabilization (EIS) and rolling shutter compensation (RSC) technologies. It supports HyperEngine 2.0 Lite generation technologies and Dual 4G VoLTE built-in “voice alert”.
Speaking at the launch of the new Helio line, CH Chen, Deputy General Manager of Wireless Communication Products in MediaTek’s Wireless Business Group said: It constantly improves chip performance, speed, and reliability. These new Helio G series chips are at the core of amazing mobile experiences.”
