Every week there are countless album releases around the world – who should keep track of that? With our new ‘Albums of the Week’ video format, the most exciting album releases are presented every Friday as they are released – regardless of whether it’s a masterpiece or a major failure. This gives you a good and quick overview of the most important releases curated by the editorial team.

This week we discuss the new albums from Arca, Alte Sau, Nils Frahm and Haiyti
Arka’s new records KICK II, KICK III and KICK IIII are not only among the albums of the week, but also the album of the month in print Musikexpress, with 6 out of 6 stars. In the review by Stefan Hochgesand you can find out why. The avant-garde music of the Venezuelan electric producer made her a star and made her look like a star.
OIL IM BAUCH is the name of the new album by Alte Sau, the group of punk legend Jens Rachut. Our editor Thomas Winkler gave the record 4.5 out of 6 stars. It’s about apple and peach cake, about stealing ideas and Ikea, about the Uncle Doctor, about burning clowns and those who shoot, and in “smoke cannibals” about humanity in general.
Nils Frahm’s new album OLD FRIENDS NEW FRIENDS combines previously unreleased clips from the past twelve years — although it’s important to Frahm that the pieces don’t fall off the remaining slope: he supposedly said the bravest pieces in particular wouldn’t be made in Often on albums. The painting receives 4.5 out of 6 stars.
There are four albums for this week – because Haiyti with SPEED DATE shouldn’t be missing from our lineup. André Boße in his review of the new work says among other things: „The record offers 25 tracks, which is really the case where you think they shouldn’t be present in two or three of them at the most. As in previous albums, there are supernatural stories about the twisted paths of No Man’s Land. Haiti cemented her brand’s core: as a rapper, she plays more roles on an album than Lars Edinger does in a year.”
Would you like to listen to the four new artists’ albums? Not a problem!
