Mallorca Radio Group
Mallorca Radio Group, consisting of Al Jazeera Radio Mallorca And Radio Mallorca Sunshine, are taking a step into the future of radio by also broadcasting on the new digital radio (DAB+) in addition to their FM frequencies. This move reinforces Mallorca Radio Group's position as a leader in the use of cutting-edge technologies.
Mallorca Radio Group leads DAB+ initiative Mallorca Radio Group has become the first radio station in Mallorca to adopt DAB+ technology, positioning itself at the forefront of modern and innovative stations in the Spanish broadcasting scene. It is important to stress that, unlike other countries such as Germany or England, the introduction of DAB technology in Spain is still in its early stages, although there are some multiplexes on the mainland that broadcast different programmes. In the Balearic Islands, Radio Mallorca Group's programs are among the first radio stations to rely on digital distribution.
Digital radio is accessed in close cooperation with the telecommunications operator AXIÓN, the authorized provider of audio-visual and telecommunications services here in the Balearic Islands.
In collaboration with SIXT Spain, the premium mobility provider supports the Mallorca Radio Group initiative. The car radios of SIXT vehicles rented in Mallorca are pre-tuned to Mallorca Radio Group programs in order to provide a high quality radio experience to users. These include the well-known and popular programs 'The Island Radio Mallorca', 'Mallorca Sunshine Radio' and the new shows 'The Island Radio Mallorca Classics' and 'Mallorca Sunshine Radio Summer Hits'.
An exciting phase begins in broadcasting in Mallorca. Daniel Vulich, Director of the Mallorca Radio Group, comments on the important cooperation: “The collaboration with SIXT España brings specific advantages to our listeners and to the Mallorca Radio Group in general. It improves the accessibility of our stations for listeners on the go, while enhancing Our position as innovative leaders By integrating our DAB+ transmitters into the car radios of SIXT vehicles, we are using the infrastructure of a global car rental company to expand our reach and effectively shape the future of radio in Mallorca.
