According to overseas media outlet The Information, OpenAI, which has dominated the AI development competition with chatbots and image-generating AI, is developing a web search service. It is not clear whether this service will be integrated into ChatGPT or rolled out as a standalone search service.
OpenAI has been preparing to develop a search tool for more than a year. Initially, the OpenAI language model had limitations that prevented it from accessing information on the web, but in March 2023 it was integrated with Microsoft's Bing, achieving the fusion of search and artificial intelligence, and in September of the same year, we updated ChatGPT to display search results Via Bing.

According to the information, it is expected that the new search service will also be partly responsible for Bing. As Google continues to improve the search experience through generative AI, competing search services and generative AI services may continue to deepen collaboration and make a bold move into web search services, where Google maintains a strong presence. It is believed that this already exists.
