Blizzard recently revealed the next WoW Classic expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, due out later this year, and WoW’s next retail expansion called Dragonflight. As the name suggests, this will be mainly about dragons. But of course a lot also happens in terms of content.

As we move towards the next phase of the still popular MMO, tangible information surrounding Dragonflight continues to grow. For example, the creator of World of Warcraft “MrGM” was recently allowed in exclusive interview With WoW Master Fighting Designer Brian Holinka. He revealed that the 10.0 update, i.e. the “pre-patch” for the Dragonflight expansion, will contain eight new sets of races and classes that cannot be combined with each other.

Before we get into the full list of all the new class and race combinations, let’s just say you’ll soon be able to sneak through Azeroth as an ‘Invisibull’. Yes, tauren can get malicious in WoW patch 10.0 and later. But of course it goes further than that.

To put it more accurately, Holinka revealed in the interview that Blizzard aims to be as open as possible in the future when it comes to potential combinations of race and class. One wants to move away from the idea that breed selection is also a directional decision regarding playful possibilities.

The first step in this direction will be correction 10.0, in which All races in the game He would be able to choose a rogue, a sorcerer as well as a priest as a class. Although these classes can already be combined in many different ways, there will be no restrictions in the future if you have to think about what race the next villain, wizard or priest should belong to.

This declaration results in the following potential new combinations:

  • Drynee Rogue
  • Lightforged Draenei Rogue
  • Turin Rog
  • Haimontin Turin Rog
  • ORC Priest
  • Highmountain Tauren Priest
  • Turin Mage
  • Haimonten Turin Mage

In addition to this exciting reveal, ‘MrGM’ asked in the interview about more slots for racing groups and classes in World of Warcraft Dragonflight. For example, Paladin fans have always wanted more variety in their class choices. Gnomes or night elves would be perfect here, for example.

However, there are two main factors to consider here. On the other hand, as Holinka also emphasizes, the timing must be right and at least a bit of background must be created so that new combos don’t appear “out of nowhere” and are suddenly on the move in the game. It must be at least partially attuned to science. On the other hand, with regard to certain classes, there is of course a lot of work to adapt their characteristics to other races. For example, consider druid shapes, totem designs, or class-specific fixtures.

So it’s entirely possible, and even very likely, that we’ll see more ways to combine our favorite race and new seasons for the foreseeable future. For the reasons mentioned, the exact date has not yet been established. After all: with Patch 10.0 you can be very creative in naming, especially with regard to very big bad guys.
