Internacional takes a position on the Brazilian Confederation’s decision not to postpone matches: “We are upset”

The Brazilian Football Confederation informed, last Wednesday (29), that it will not postpone the matches valid for rounds 24, 25 and 26 of the Brazilian League for the clubs whose players have been recalled. Edenilson, of Internacional, has been called up by Tite and will cheat the team in matches against Ceará (6/10), Chapecoense (10/10) and América-MG (13 or 14/10). The decision infuriated Colorado, and Emilio Papalio Zin, deputy soccer team player, spoke about the matter in an interview with “GaúchaZH”.

The Colorado direction didn’t like the Brazilian Football Confederation’s stance at all and said it was generating “incalculable damage” to the club from Rio Grande do Sul.

Unfortunately (the matches) will not be postponed which is causing us incalculable damage. The club is very disappointed with the decision of the Brazilian Football Confederation.

At the time of the call-up, Juninho Paulista, the coordinator of the Brazilian national team, said that the matches of the Brazilian clubs whose players had been called up would be postponed at the next FIFA date, but this did not happen. Palmeiras, Flamengo and Atletico MG have called up players and will also suffer absences in the Brazilian championship.

Inter Palacios and Guerrero also lost, as well as Edenelson. The players were called up by the Chilean and Peruvian teams respectively.

Internacional fans will return to Beira Rio on October 10 against Xavi, as the 25th round match will not be postponed. The match will take place at 11:00 am (GMT) and will mark the end of the long absence of fans in the Colorado Games, which have not received an audience in its stadium since March 8, 2020, when the team beat Team Brazil. Pelotas 2-0 in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
