For many, the highlight of Bethesda’s new sci-fi RPG Starfield was the presentation of the Xbox show on June 11, 2023. But not everyone was excited about the game.
Who is the person you are talking about? Shirley Carey rose to fame in 2015 as “Grandma Skyrim” with her Let’s Plays on YouTube. She was 79 years old, so she must be in her late 80s by now. She desperately wants to see The Elder Scrolls 6 released – and she’s frustrated with Bethesda.
What bothers the Skyrim granny? In a June 16 vlog, Carey shared her frustration with her 1.22 million “grandchildren” on YouTube. After so many years, I’m slowly getting tired of Skyrim, but there’s no trace of a successor:
One of my problems, kids, is that I got really mad at Bethesda for not making and releasing Elder Scrolls 6 for us to play. […] I’ve played so many different stories I’ve dreamed up in Skyrim over the years that I eventually got bored.
In the end, Kari subdued her beloved Skyrim, but now she is in an awkward position: “I’m bored with the game, and now I’m bored without it.”
Curry seems to be lacking in gaming alternatives. Most of the other games are boring and she doesn’t like it. She tried Bethesda’s Fallout series, but found it “extremely underwhelming”.
Skyrim’s granny doesn’t play space games
Why isn’t Starfield an option? When a viewer asked her if she was excited about Starfield, the Skyrim grandmother wrote, “No, I’m not. I’m so mad they put off ES6 for so long!”
On the other side computer games Curry explained that while the Starfield show was cute, it’s a space game. It’s just a Skyrim addict.
Meanwhile, she just has to console herself with Civilization 5 – but not Civ 6, because she doesn’t like the map there. It remains to be seen if Carrey will give Starfield another chance at release.
At the same time, Carrie also cleared up rumors that she will be appearing in Starfield, like her co-stars from The star of the game to report. In the show, fans discover a spaceship called “Grandma” that invites players to eat.
Skyrim’s grandmother says, however, that she witnessed the scene, but that was a small hint from Bethesda. She is not in the game and knows nothing of these Bethesda plans.
The grandmother of games, Hamako Mori, also knows that games make you young.
