“I wrote it in a very honest way.'' – Millet even created the Hanatibah. – J-WAVE 81.3 FM JK Radio Tokyo United

This time, it's the theme song for the TV drama Sunday Theater[Antihero]It is a hidden story of the song “Hanataba” by Millet.

The main character in[Anti-Hero]She is Meibumi, the “anti” lawyer who “exonerates the killers” played by Hiroki Hasegawa. So to speak, what is the truth that the protagonist is trying to uncover? This is the story. How did you go about producing the title track?

“I read a few episodes of the script for the drama first. I think I was relatively free to be inspired by that. The only thing I can really say is that it was a mid-tempo song even though I had not heard it from her. I composed two or three songs in a session with Yoshiki Tsutaya, and sent them as a demo to the drama crew, and by then I had already established the template. Initial for “hanataba”. “It was originally called 'Bouquet,' but they really liked the demo, so I thought it was a very smooth direction to go into.”

A session with music producer Yoshiki Tsutaya. I heard it was held at Tsutaya-san's studio, but how exactly did it go?

“I explained the content of the text until I read it, and I wanted to express these feelings in the song, and I told them key words like “regret,” “love,” and “hope.” “,”And what I was thinking, Mr. Tsutaya, when you say the word, “Is that the sound?” Then, in detail, I said, “No, this chord is a bit too bright, it's too positive,” “I want more core power,” so I played it together with him, but I don't think anyone could do it. We've both had our share of pain and grief. I have worked with Mr. Tsutaya many times, and we like each other very much. There were a lot of things that made me feel like a deep person, so I thought: “With this person, I think we can make the sounds of deep love sound together.”

For this song, Mr. Yoshiki Tsutaya said, “The song starts with the piano where I suggested that this intro would definitely be good, and 'I hate you, it's not a lie,' and the song starts. What is the intent of these lyrics?”

“I wanted to show that this song is very ambiguous, or rather, I wanted this song to be something that people who are right and people who are not right can relate to. Everyone's feelings are very quick to express whether they love it or hate it but I don't think it's that simple. There are things that I love and I hate, and there are parts of me that I hate that are actually endearing, it often makes me feel like rejection isn't the right thing or the right thing to do, and that's why I hate it, and that's not a lie, but there's a lot of emotion behind this song, and I think I wanted to I say at first that it is something mysterious. It's true that the lyrics start with “I hate you” which has a little bit of impact, but the lyrics “I hate you” are poignant at first, I wanted to convey that that's not what it's meant to be.

The song “Hanataba” begins with such words. It's not just about drama, it also expresses Millet's feelings.

“We did a live arena in March. To celebrate Millet's fifth anniversary since their debut. I was writing this song at the time I was producing it, and I was thinking about performing live. It was a bit difficult for me to face this. I was writing the lyrics for 'Hanatbeh' in A time when I was swallowing all the muddy feelings inside me, and it was also a lyric that spoke to me, and I felt a little bit remorseful and a lot of remorse for myself, so I think it ended up being very honest, very honest to people, just like we all feel remorse, I also feel sorry for the past, and I'm sorry for a lot of people. I'm more grateful for being able to face it than not being able to face it. I feel like I've become a little stronger through singing. I feel like I don't want to forget this feeling. It's scary to face the past, but I want Facing it even if it's painful or scary is a song that made me think, so it became something special when I listened to it again.

The lyrics were written in a way so honest that I faced the pain inside me. Millet's song expresses this. Millet attracts many people with his wonderful singing. What do you keep in mind when singing?

“Well, it's hard, isn't it? Singing is hard after all. I want you to try singing some songs I composed at karaoke, but it's hard. That's why it's really hard to get on the field. You might think I shouldn't say that, but it's true when It's about singing to convey it to people. You can't do anything with emotion alone. In the end, you have to have that basic foundation before you can add emotion to it. I don't have that. I can't find a balance. Sometimes the power of the song clashes with my power. I'm also a human being, so there are times when I feel a lot of different things when I sing. I especially come out when it comes to a song like “Hanataba”, but it's about whether you prioritize your own feelings or the song but now that I put all my feelings into the song, I think In How to Do It Sing It So It Appears as a Song Why does music have a sheet music? Ultimately, the ideas that go into the music become notes.

TV drama[Anti-Hero]whose theme song is “Hanataba,” will finally have its final episode this weekend.

“I wonder what's going on? It's crazy. They always seem to hold their breath at the end. I tend to forget things myself. Ah, 'Hannataba'. Yes, that's my song (lol) something like that. When that song plays I feel so relaxed In this unfolding drama, I was very happy at the time, when I met Hiroki Hasegawa, the main actor who plays Mr. Mebumi, he said, “I felt so forgiven with this song, or rather, I felt like my feelings were forgiven.” I didn't know if it was Mr. Hasegawa himself or Mr. Mebumi's character, but I felt very close to that person's feelings, and I was next to him, and this song made me feel relaxed and I felt happy because I was able to empathize with the pain of the song I wrote, which included my own pain when “This song was the hint for this role,” he said. “That was the moment I realized this song was part of the drama.” All I can say is I'm glad I wrote it, and I'm glad it was a song that had meaning to me and to someone else.”
