There is hardly a better location for the hydrogen filling station in Schleswig-Holstein: it is being built in the southern industrial district of Neumünster, the headquarters of many logistics companies with hundreds of trucks. There is government funding, but companies also have to spend a lot of money: a hydrogen truck costs four times as much as a diesel-powered car.
Newmunster. Now it’s safe: the first hydrogen filling station in Schleswig-Holstein for the movement of heavy goods is coming to Neumünster. It will be built in the southern industrial area on the Danube bend, opposite another modern fuel filling station, liquefied natural gas (LNG).
The filling station was built under the leadership of Hypion GmbH (Heide and Kiel). The company signed a contract with the Dutch company Resato Hydrogen Technology and ordered all technology for the plant. It should be ready in the second quarter of 2023 and go live, Hypion announced.
