Gütersloh, Game Brands Review, Review »Fableland «by Mirakulus
There are board game themes that immediately pique my interest and almost lead me to buy a blind game, such as circuses, variety shows, and theme parks.
One such theme, Amusement Parks, is addressed in “Fabelland” by #Mirakulus, where 2 to 5 players, aged 10 and over, dive into an enchanting world of roundabouts over the course of 60 minutes of gameplay.
In the middle of the individual park areas, and therefore also in the focus of the game, there are huge roundabouts around which we build our attractions. The goal of the game is easy to explain: in the end, the player who collected the most balloons, to which visitors to his attractions let them fly with enthusiasm, wins. This alone is a great idea.
But the game’s illustration is great too, as you tend to delve deep into a #hidden object when it’s not your turn. This lovely detailed #frustration alone gives me a wow factor to feel good at the table.
But you shouldn’t hold back too much, because your attractions only fill up when it’s not your turn. This mechanism ensures that there is no idle time in the #game because you are always excited when it is the other players’ turn.
But just as in real life, visitors to “Vabeland” have their preferences when it comes to attractions. These needs are represented in color on attraction maps.
When the gravity is full, it starts moving and the balloon collecting process begins. It goes without saying that more attractive attractions also generate more enthusiasm among the visitors.
Here it is important to monitor the expansion of attractions from time to time. In this case, balloons are used not only as a final evaluation criterion, but also as a means of payment for a purchase.
Like just about everything in the game, this #buy has a double function. Because you not only take something from the screen from one of the areas in the center, but also send all the visitors in that area to one of the roundabouts to bring them a little closer to your own attraction. In addition, each player has his own wheel of movement, which also fits perfectly into the design of the game.
In addition, the game has one interesting or another interesting element to offer, so influencers can also be paid with balloons to attract more visitors to the attractions.
They all have such a charming style that you can hear #funfair softly in the background and make “Fabelland” a visually beautiful family game with good character.
