Game Widgets is aimed at all those video game fans who wait a long time when looking forward to a new game release. The gaming tools arose from the desire of many gamers to use the “Games” section of SwitchBuddy for other platforms as well. The iPhone app download is only 12MB in size and also requires iOS 16.0 or later on the device. The use is basically free, if you want to save an unlimited number of your favorite games in the application, you can activate this option for 3.99 euros / year.
Game Widgets version 1.3.0 is now available for download in the German App Store. The update also includes a rebranding of the app: the app is now called “Gaming Buddy”. Developer Filip Nemecek decided to make the change because he says he “felt the old name could give a false impression of the app’s main purpose.” In addition, version 1.3.0 contains other new features and improvements in the store.
New releases
In addition to the lists of featured and upcoming games, the app also offers a “New Releases” list, which shows games that have just been released. This list goes back about a month – depending on how many games have been released – and is perfect for finding games to play right away.
The list of new releases can also be filtered by platform (PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox, etc.). Most PC games also have links for digital purchase (usually Steam or Epic Games), which makes it very easy to check prices and even buy the game from a mobile device.

Support for widgets has been greatly expanded in version 1.3.0. The most popular “Release Countdown” and “Up Next” widgets can also be used on the lock screen. Due to restrictions, these variants cannot display game covers, and Up Next can display up to two upcoming games.
The update to version 1.3.0 of Game Widgets or Gaming Buddy can now be downloaded for free from the German App Store. So far, users have given the app a very good rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars on the App Store.
