However, according to the Marketing and Strategy Board, we have been able to increase the sponsorship amount to over €700,000 currently. “FC 08 is a sleeping giant that can be awakened,” said Distel, who also called for a broader positioning in the future in order to continue the success.
Sporting Director Denis Stogiandis has assessed the “ups and downs” of the 2022/2023 sporting year. While the first team finished 11th in the league and lost the cup final, the Under-21s finished ninth in the Etihad League.
Youth leader Torsten Caltabellota reached an overall positive result and highlighted in particular the A2 Championship and the Southern Baden de Junior Championship. Caltabellotta praised the work with 150 young people and thanked the coaches, supervisors and parents as well, “without whom none of this would have been possible.”
The debate was emotional and contentious. Despite his current sporting success, Dennis Stogianidis has been criticized. One volunteer member criticized that Stogiannidis polarized the club, encouraged camps and was difficult to work with. He was not surprised by these accusations. He promised in his speech that he would not wash dirty laundry, but then began a long list of accusations against his fellow board members who rejected them.
Former president Jürgen Hornstein ended the discussion by pointing out to the sporting director that player and coach obligations must be discussed in the board of directors and that it could not be done alone. “The club stands above everything and deserves more than every individual,” said meeting chairman Andreas Floss with a conciliatory final word.
