“You think my music is based on a dark vision,” says a line from the song “Postapocalypse” from Dissy’s Anger Baby album. And yes, you can really think so. One looks in vain for euphoria or positivity at the Berlin rapper’s latest release, however: it’s precisely the heaviness and gloom that reverberates in Desi’s conscious rap, staged as the anti-hero of an already broken generation, that’s what “Anger Baby” is about. . It makes it very special. The title refers to the public square of Anger in Erfurt in the artist’s birthplace. As it seems, there is also an important scene from his past – his treatment is a central topic in his long autobiography.

Along with his producer Kidney Paradise, Dissy has created an unenthusiastic but captivating sound that reflects and emphasizes the level of “Anger Baby” content. A lot is being worked on by: Topics like anything but stress-free school days (“not good”), fighting with depression (“future”) or experiences with toxic relationships (“exciting depression”) Berlin shows through. The choice is by a very personal, friendly. But there’s also space in “Anger Baby” for the power of observation that shines through again and again, which Dissy has already demonstrated in previous projects. In the course of “business”, for example, he criticizes underestimating precarious working conditions. “Drag and drop” is an ironic reference to our capitalist society.

strong optical level

Many tracks from the long-running player have already been released as previous songs. Most of them with very cool music videos. Producing these clips is a huge passion of Desi, who has produced music videos for Mine, Juju, Megaloh, and Clueso in addition to his own videos. The visual accompaniment to “Anger Baby” follows a concept and shows different episodes from the life of Till Krücken, Dissy’s real name. The main track here, both musically and visually, is “You Must Lose”. The song marks a turning point between Desi’s past and future, describing the rapper as restless and ready to go, and it’s also special for another reason: ‘Must los’ bears the influence of the song ‘Peter Parker’ from the debut album ‘Playlist 01” she continued. Both songs begin with “Maybe I’ll never be king at the party / I never drive a Maserati like them,” but the two are hopeful “But then, when night falls, you’ll come with me / To me” From the first album “Anger Baby” becomes the “comfortable line” I wrote the song for you / When you came with me, but – you gotta go.” The track edit clearly shows what is also the gist of the entire album: Dissy is more than ready to leave the past behind and is doing so in action with one last mental trip at this time.

Hopefully it’s almost on one of the tracks that hasn’t even been released until release. The song “Postapocalypse” mentioned at the beginning shows that despite all the bad phases and setbacks, there is always a way to a better life somewhere and you can always leave the past behind: “You created worlds that are actually not good for me, that’s why I’m going to tear them up.”

Because despite all the dark content, the album managed to come to an overall positive ending. It concludes with the darkness and heaviness that has characterized Desi’s production thus far. Or as he says himself in the concluding track “Back”: “I was so far away in the spaceship / But the world below needs me / I think I’ll be back at last.”
