Assembling this children's game by Kratos Giannakoulas and Manolis Zachariadis (HABA) is very easy. The melody is already in front of us in the middle of the table. The crew is getting ready. Ten interconnected fields can be seen on the ship. The crew members are distributed among them. Then different colored paddles are placed on the outside of the railing.

In the preliminary game, positions are determined in advance, and in subsequent rounds, chance determines the starting positions of the crew and oars. The following will accompany us throughout the entire adventure, after the introductory tour under time pressure of course.

In principle, this trains everyone to think logically, and the demands are not really high in the preliminary round. But it doesn't stay that way.

The whole thing is accompanied by an adventure book. Anyone can read the story that accompanies each chapter or kids can use a QR code to control individual chapters of the adventure as an audiobook.

The operation on the pirate ship grows in every chapter. New cards and tasks are added, and other cards disappear again. For this reason, the game instructions are the next important companion to the game round. There, everyone can look up what to do with a box of bananas, for example.

Children grow with demands

But don't worry, you grow with the game and the basic mechanism, which is moving game pieces to the appropriate paddles, always remains the same. Even under time pressure. You have 120 seconds per round to play. A class always consists of three rounds. The time can be set either with the built-in hourglass or with a chronograph. When time is up, everyone looks forward to seeing how many crew members have made it to the helm. This gives you excellent tiles.

At the end of each chapter, it depends on how many Thumb Tokens the team has obtained. Because after that there are rewards in the form of stickers stuck on the treasure map. The Legendary Seven Treasure is also obtained in this way.

Wow theory. In practice you have to stay on the ball. Because you have to play 25 chapters. Anyone who says that this is not a lot should be said that 25 chapters are more than enough for this children's game and promise a lot of varied adventures and interesting twists. At the end of the adventure on the high seas, Madame Goldzan is still waiting. But don't worry. This will work.
