The Taiwanese company BenQ has released a new gaming projector with the TH690ST. The 4LED based DLP short-throw model has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD), achieves a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz and can project an image size of 100 inches from a distance of 150 cm from (screen) wall. Other key data includes 2,300 ANSI lumens, 500,000:1 contrast, 30-bit color depth, and 98 percent Rec.709.
The LED light source must be able to work for 20,000 hours (normal) or 30,000 hours (economy). At 120Hz, gamers are promised an input lag of just 8.3ms. The feature set also includes horizontal and vertical keystone correction, 1.2x zoom, HDR10 and 3D support, two 5W speakers and a remote control.
On the interface side, HDMI 2.0b, RS232, S/PDIF, USB-A and 3.5mm jack (input and output) can be used. The power consumption of the projector is estimated at 140 watts (in a 110 volt network), the volume at 28 watts (economy) or 33 watts (normal) and the weight at 3.6 kg. subordinate BenQ TH690ST Available in stores “on the spot”, it costs 1,199 euros and comes with a three-year warranty.
