Scan & Go provider from Graz is the leader in Europe and now opens the East
Auchan Retail Romania offers Scan & Go to continue the process of digitizing its stores. Self-scanning service is available to customers via the Auchan app. The project will start in a pilot phase at the Auchan hypermarket Dromoll Tabiri in Bucharest and will gradually be available in all MyAuchan supermarkets and stores.
From this month, MyCLUB Auchan users can use their smartphone to check their purchases, saving a significant amount of time at checkout. With the Auchan app, available for free on Google Play and the App Store, customers can scan the barcode of any product available in the store. The app calculates the total value of a shopping cart in real time, giving customers complete control over the costs incurred. MyClub benefits earned are also displayed at the end of the purchase process.
Scan & Go customers can pay for their purchases with either cash or credit cards on selected invoices. Soon, Auchan also wants to make it possible to pay directly in the app.

We offer our loyal customers the opportunity to replace the entire checkout process, where all products must be placed on the payment belt and checked by an employee, with an innovative shopping experience that reinvents shopping in our stores. The self-scan service is intuitive, safe and fast, and allows us to integrate with the Auchan app by offering personalized promotions and services tailored to suit individual preferences,” Says Theodor Serban, Director of Events and Projects, Ocean Retail Romania.
This is how Scan & Go works:
- Customers open the Auchan app, click the “Start Scan & Go” button and follow the instructions to locate the store and their Auchan account. To access the Scan & Go section, they must have a MyCLUB Auchan membership and an account on the auchan.ro platform.
- Customers use the app to scan barcodes for all products they add to their shopping cart. The number of individual products can be easily modified in the application. Of course, products can also be removed from the shopping cart.
- Once all products are placed in the shopping cart, customers can pay at one of the selected cash registers.
- To do this, click the Pay button in the app to start the payment process. Optionally, a carrying case can be added before the app displays a payment screen with a QR code.
- This QR code is scanned at checkout and customers can pay for their purchase with cash or credit card.
- The cash register prints a tax invoice, which customers scan when they leave the store.
