Aluminum alloy body
The case measures 125 x 54 x 13 mm and weighs 157 grams. This makes a good piece not particularly light, but the aluminum alloy body and cooling system simply weigh a bit more. A heat pad is used for cooling. This cooling system should save a few extra points, especially in continuous operation.
Otherwise, the housing is IP68 certified. Dust, dirt and moisture should not harm the SSD. At the same time, the Asus TUF Gaming AS1000 should not bother with a short immersion in water or a fall from a height. For the latter event, the case has even been tested via MIL-STD-810H.
According to ASUS, the SSD, as the name implies, was developed specifically for gamers. The SSD should not only be compatible with PCs, but also with existing consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. However, you should note that this SSD does not replace well-known NVMe expansion SDDs from Seagate or WD, especially for the Xbox series.

An SSD is installed with a storage capacity of 1 TB. It is an M.2NVMe PCIe SSD. The Asus TUF Gaming AS1000 is connected via USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 x 1. This should allow data transfer rates of up to 10Gb/s. A matching USB-C cable is included in the scope of delivery.
You also get free NTI Backup Now EZ software. This is to protect the data it contains from bad guys. You can also use the so-called SSD Dashboard. Here you can monitor the current SSD temperature, memory status and other values.
