Wrath of the Druids finds the plot set in Ireland, a country different from the main game set on the coast of Norway – England. The player can access the bonus content at any time, but the developer recommended level for the adventure is from the 90s. Aside from the initial part, which is still happening on the main map, his bonus story completely takes place in a new scenario.

In it, Viking Eivor The Wolf Kissed was invited by a merchant to visit the land of Ireland, as, oddly enough, her cousin Barid is one of many local kings. Soon the heroine finds herself embroiled in a deadly conspiracy in which the Druid sect wants to assassinate Ireland’s greatest king, so-and-so.

As is usual in the franchise, Ivor will meet many historical figures from Ireland on his trip, such as those previously mentioned by Barid and Flann Sinna. In addition to them, famous and legendary people from the region also appear, although they have some modifications regarding their realistic versions.

To be a Vikings on a new land – enormous

Druid Wrath isn’t just extra content being produced to get fans extra cash – the season ticket costs $ 164 on PSN. During our tests, we felt Ubisoft went over much of what was expected from the expansion, and added a lot of additional things to do. Starting with a new map almost the size of the main adventure.

There are many new places to explore and secrets to uncover on stage, and it’s truly a trademark of the franchise. New POIs are introduced, and several side quests are available to keep players entertained. The expansion also increases the number of items that can be purchased in the game, and adds new weapons, clothes, and accessories.

It is also possible to explore Ireland by land and sea, and to discover new points of interest. Thieves’ hideouts, forts and monasteries that can be looted are spread across the country and reward the player who decides to go after such places.

However, exploring the country will not be easy, as Ireland is full of enemies who will be on their way to protect the riches of this land. While many of the enemies resemble those in the main adventure, the expansion adds some new enemies that will make you rethink whether it is a good idea to loot your test spots.

To help Ivor, new skills have been added, which can be unlocked with the character’s level up. There are also new weapons and items that will help the protagonist take on the different challenges that Ireland has to offer.

But the role of the Vikings is not limited to exploiting and killing the Irish people, especially in a new and unknown land. Wrath of the Druids also provides some extra work to do in Ireland. The main city for adventure is Dublin’s commercial port, and IFOR has the opportunity to help expand the area’s economic and financial reach. Thus, the player can search for and exchange natural resources and materials for better items, which greatly increases the game time with the new package.

A land of many wonders

As usual in the franchise, Ubisoft did an excellent job of studying and recreating Ireland in the 9th century. The country is well represented, as it contains some of the place’s famous landmarks, as well as typical buildings and plants. Even people’s clothes are similar to those used in that period.

The armor that Ivor could obtain during his adventure into Irish lands is also noteworthy. The same applies to enemies who, despite their similarities to those taking on the main adventure, wear state clothing and armor and are equipped with traditional weapons and accessories from the region.

Just like in the main game, the graphics are still nice and the sounds are good to try. We played DLC with Brazilian Portuguese dubbing, and the voice actors selected for the new characters are very good. Although some translation errors were noted, overall experience is still good. Ubisoft did a great job with translation, reflecting an interest in Brazilian players who cannot read in another language or prefer their native language.

However, not all is well, and the expansion continues with the problems presented in the main adventure. Some bugs still happen, even though they’re harmless and some are funny to see. The intelligence of enemies can sometimes be questioned, and Wrath of the Druids also presented loading problems during the adventure, with moments when the game was loaded in the middle of a move like walking, for example.

If you enjoyed the main adventure in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and want more, this expansion is for you. Ivor’s new trip to Irish lands is very enjoyable and provides a good opportunity to spend more time with the title. And be warned: the Druids’ rage is pretty big, and it will take more than five hours to complete everything – which is a lot compared to other DLC sites, from other titles.
