AOC has once again teamed up with Prosche Design and introduced a new, cutting-edge curved gaming monitor with the PD49.
The special feature of the PD49 is its size with bending. This should be able to cover the user’s entire field of view with a 49-inch QD-OLED display that is approximately 5mm thin and has a curvature of 1,800 R. The display offers dual QHD resolution, i.e. 5,120 x 1,440 pixels. AOC specifies maximum brightness at 1,000 nits. The VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certified display is supported by 10-bit color depth with 1.07 billion colors. In addition, there is 99 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.
The maximum refresh rate is set at 240Hz and is accompanied by a gray-to-gray (GtG) response time of 0.03ms. This makes the device an ideal candidate for eSports titles. Adaptive-Sync ensures a variable refresh rate on the PD49.
The screen wants to impress with its outward appearance. The design of the PD49 aims to reflect the fine details that also distinguish Porsche sports cars. The screen rests on a sandblasted aluminum base, which is designed to resemble a sports car’s steering wheel and speaker. However, the back of the screen is based on the design of the Porsche 911’s radiator grille.
In addition to its visual qualities, the PD49 wants to impress with its all-round connectivity. Modern devices can be connected to it via HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4. The built-in USB hub, complete with four USB 3.2 ports and an RJ-45 port, ensures seamless communication. There is also a USB-C port that can charge devices while in use at 90W. With the help of the built-in KVM switch, users can also connect two computers simultaneously and split the dual QHD display for multitasking.
Features like frame counter, individual crosshair level (hotspot) and low input latency also ensure an optimal gaming experience. The monitor also has two built-in stereo speakers (2x8W).
The Porsche Design AGON PRO PD49 is now available for €2,190 (RRP) or CHF 2,124 (excluding ARF and VAT) in Porsche Design boutiques, specialist retailers, online at porsche-design.com and in selected online stores.
