About the author:

Hansenhansen (Klaus Hansen) grew up outdoors in Schleswig-Holstein. Two events left a lasting mark on his life: the devastating storm of February 1962, which he witnessed first-hand in his hometown of Bainberg, and his first sea voyage as a cabin boy on the steamer BLIDUM in July 1963, which took him from Hamburg. Through Rotterdam, Algeria, Tunis and Tripoli to Benghazi (Libya). Since then, he has been fascinated by the forces of nature, winds and storms, tides, ships, the sea and marine navigation. Instead of traveling to Tenerife, Florida or Hawaii on vacation, go to Husum, Posum or Hornum. This inevitably led to his intense and passionate preoccupation with the North Sea coast, its nature and its peculiarities. The author has lived and worked as a graphic designer and communications consultant near Hanover for years. When he’s not working in his office, he’s probably sitting on some levee and waiting for the wind to tell him new stories.
