Google's upcoming smartphones “Pixel 9”, “Pixel 9 Pro” and “Pixel 9 Pro XL” have been certified in Japan!

As previously reported, Google will hold the “Made by Google Event – VIII, XIII, MMXXIV” for internally developed hardware products called “Made by Google” on August 13, 2024 (local time (PDT)). It will start at 10 AM (Tuesday). The event can be watched on the official YouTube channel ( Made by Google ), and will be broadcast live on August 14 (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. Japan Time (JST).

The company also announced at the event that it will launch the next generation of smartphones under the Pixel brand, the flagship Pixel 9 Pro and the foldable Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the official online store “Google Store” operated by Google Japan (hereinafter referred to as Google Japan) and the official X account (formerly Twitter) ( @Google Japan ), so it is expected to be sold in Japan as well.

In addition, Pixel smartphones have been equipped with a special chipset (SoC) “Tensor” since the products were launched in 2021, and products equipped with this Tensor have been widely used so far, such as the “Pixel 6” and “Pixel 6 Pro”. The Pixel 9 series model and the Pro model were announced at the same time, but at present Google has not revealed the existence of the regular model of the Pixel 9 series, but as it has already been introduced, there is actually a regular model of the Pixel 9 series. It seems that the “Pixel 9” series will also be released and the large-screen model “Pixel 9 Pro XL” have received different certifications.

These model numbers are known to be Pixel 9 for GUR25 and G1B60, Pixel 9 Pro for GEC77 and GWVK6, Pixel 9 Pro XL for GZC4K and GQ57S, and the remaining Pixel 9 Pro Fold will also be sold in Japan on the Google Store. Since the Pixel 9 series has been announced for launch in Japan, it seems likely that all four models of the Pixel 9 series will be released in Japan. Currently, the product that appears to be the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is not registered in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications’ public notice for type designation and type confirmation of high-frequency equipment, but it is believed that it will be added separately at a later date.

The certificate numbers in the General Notice for Type Assignment and Type Confirmation of High Frequency Equipment are “AC-24032” for GZC4K, “AC-24033” for GQ57S, “AC-24034” for GEC77, and “AC-24034” for GWVK6. “AC-24035”, GUR25 as “AC-24036”, and G1B60 as “AC-24037”, so it is believed that G1B60, GWVK6, and GQ57S will likely be products for Japan that will be sold in Japan, and we believe that these products are Osaifu-Keitai (FeliCa) compliant.
