In an unexpected statement posted on Twitter, Activision Blizzard talked about “building anticipation for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III” and spoke of an update regarding Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision, which is still pending.
It’s been explained that once this deal closes, Activision Blizzard expects it will begin adding its games to the Game Pass subscription service “sometime within the next year.” It’s not known exactly what titles will be added to Game Pass first, but it’s assumed that a bunch of Call of Duty titles will end up on the service.
Activision games are coming to Game Pass
It was always assumed that Activision Blizzard titles would be coming to the Game Pass subscription following the successful acquisition by Microsoft, but this is one step closer to getting full confirmation of the range of games available.
Here is the statement Which has been published:
It’s great to see the growing anticipation for Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® III. As we continue to work toward regulatory approval of the Microsoft deal, we have received some questions about whether our upcoming and recently launched games will be available via Game Pass.
Although we have no plans to put Modern Warfare® III or Diablo IV on Game Pass this year, once the deal closes, we expect to begin working with Xbox to bring our titles to more players around the world. We expect to start adding games to Game Pass sometime within the next year.
With the acquisition expected to close in a few days, this is great news for Xbox fans around the world – the Game Pass subscription may be about to get a huge amount of games – but this year, Modern Warfare III and Diablo IV won’t be among them.
