Experience esports and gaming live at the Technisches Museum Wien

ORF Long Night of Museums is all about digital entertainment

Vienna On October 1, 2022, the Austrian esports scene will have guests at the Technisches Museum Wien and visitors can turn a museum night into a day in the exciting stadium atmosphere. As part of the ORF Long Night of Museums, professionals and exhibition matches from esports and gaming, interactive virtual reality experiences and various gaming stations await curious players.

Together with representatives of the Austrian Esports Federation and the leading leagues, various types of esports will be presented and can also be experienced live – including valuable tips and excitement! Because the pros from eBundesliga and A1 eSports League Austria can be tried and challenged up close. In addition, visitors receive exclusive behind-the-scenes insights into esports tournaments. How does technical and organizational implementation work? What’s so great about that and why are esports tournaments often compared to classic sporting events?

Esports and gaming have been trending for years, and now research is also paying attention to their positive aspects. Because depending on the game, not only cognitive and motor skills – such as hand-eye coordination and reaction speed – are trained, but social skills as well. During the ORF Long Night of Museums, experts from the Federal Bureau of Positive Classification of Digital Games (BuPP) will also be available to provide information on responsible gaming, addiction prevention, and games of educational value.

Guided tours and other highlights:

In addition to focusing on gaming, the Technical Museum Vienna offers a diverse program for all age groups at the ORF Long Night of Museums.
