Manufacturer MSI is now following the CLUTCH GM31 Lightweight models and their corresponding wireless counterpart from January 2023 with two gaming mice. The MSI CLUTCH GM51 Lightweight and CLUTCH GM51 Lightweight Wireless are the most advanced rodents by the manufacturer to date. Both models are now commercially available.
MSI GM51 LIGHTWEIGHT CLUTCH The GM51 Lightweight Cordless Clutch is detailed
The MSI CLUTCH GM51 Lightweight and CLUTCH GM51 Lightweight Wireless gaming mice are the successors to the popular GM50 from the manufacturer and adopt the same ergonomic hand shape, but come with several improvements.
Both models adopt an ergonomic shape to prevent hand fatigue and are equipped with MSI Diamond LightGrips on both sides, providing the necessary grip even in hot situations with a diamond-shaped anti-slip surface sprinkled with diamonds.
The wireless variant weighs just 85 grams and offers 26,000 DPI resolution, 600 IPS speed, and 50G mouse acceleration. This wired gaming mouse weighs 10 grams (75 grams) less and otherwise offers the same specs.
Both lemmings are based on the state-of-the-art PixArt PAW-3395 optical sensor, while the MSI CLUTCH GM51 Lightweight Wireless communicates with almost no delay using 2.4GHz (MSI SwiftSpeed) wireless technology. Bluetooth connection is also possible.
Long running time or high polling rate
The mouse also supports two advanced charging solutions, including MSI Snap Charging (wired), which enables up to three times faster charging than similar gaming mice. With the help of the included MSI charging base, the mouse is recharged using the standard procedure. The 550mAh battery should allow up to 150 hours of playtime.
MSI CLUTCH GM51 Lightweight wired scores with a full 8000Hz polling rate – which of course sounds nice, but in our opinion after several tests of different gaming mice doesn’t offer any significant advantage if you’re not an esports pro.
The special FrixionFree cable reduces friction on the mouse pad and desk. Both gaming mice use durable OMRON switches for the primary buttons, which are designed for over 60 million clicks. Up to three profiles can be stored in the onboard memory, while the rodent adjustment is done via the MSI Center software.
