Ted Danson apologizes to Kelsey Grammer for his argument during the “Cheers” years.

Ted Danson recently apologized to Kelsey Grammer for a decades-long argument while working together on “Cheers.”

In the October 23 episode of the program “Where Everyone Knows Your Name” podcast.co-hosted by Danson and Woody Harrelson, Grammer and Danson recalled their time together on the hit NBC sitcom and discussed what their relationship was like off-camera.

“I feel like I got stuck with you a little bit during the 'Cheers' years,” Danson told Grammer. “I have a memory of getting mad at you one time.”

“Yes, you came and told me that one day,” Grammer said. The former “Cheers” co-stars did not reveal any details about the dispute.

“It's stuck in our memories. But I feel like I missed out on the last 30 years of Kelsey Grammer and I feel like that's a bad thing, and this is what I'm doing, and I almost feel like apologizing to you,” Danson admitted.

He continued, “No, I don't feel like I'm apologizing to you and me because I sat down, you know, and I didn't. And I really apologize.”

Grammer thanked Danson for the apology and said he also wished they “spent more time together.”

“Loving you has always been as easy as today,” Grammer said. “As easy as sunrise.”

Danson played Sam Malone during the sitcom's 11-season run from 1982 to 1993, while Grammer appeared as Dr. Frasier Crane between 1984 and 1993. The “Cheers” cast also included Harrelson, Rhea Perlman, Shelley Long, and John Ratzenberger.

After “Cheers” ended, Grammer reprized his role in the spinoff “Frasier,” which ran from 1993 to 2004, and the revival series of the same name on Paramount+. The second season of the “Frasier” revival was released in September.
