Equipped with the latest Lawo AoIP technology, the TVN-Ü8UHD is ideally equipped for the most demanding UHD/HDR live audio and 3D productions.
At the heart of the TVN-Ü8UHD is Lawo's IP infrastructure, including VSM (Virtual Studio Manager), a control and workflow solution for IP-based broadcast infrastructures. The car's audio capabilities are based on two Lawo mc² consoles: the mc²56 MkIII with the A-UHD Core Audio Engine plus and the mc²36 MkII all-in-one console with built-in A-UHD Core. This combination ensures smooth and fail-safe operation, even in the most complex production processes.
Lawo technology as the basis for TVN production
The Lawo mc²56 MkIII and mc²36 MkII consoles enable precise and flexible handling of 3D audio, Dolby Atmos and other audio formats – essential for large sporting and entertainment events that demand the highest sound quality.
With a redundant A-UHD core, the mc²56 MkIII delivers unprecedented computing power with 1,024 DSP channels, allowing reliable signal routing with ultra-low latency and real-time monitoring. Combined with the mc²36 MkII's compact and robust design, the TVN-Ü8UHD delivers exceptional flexibility and the highest sound quality from pre-production to live broadcast.
Lawo's IP infrastructure provides comprehensive network audio solutions that enable multiple independent signals to be processed in parallel. This is crucial for events that require different parallel workflows and makes it easier to combine HD and UHD productions. Full redundancy of Lawo IP technology provides the reliability needed for live streaming.
Flexibility and scalability
The TVN-Ü8UHD is designed for maximum flexibility and offers space for 39 workstations with a multi-functional workspace of 120 square metres. This equipment allows more complex shipments to be handled efficiently. With Lawo's networked systems, broadcast workflows from signal acquisition to distribution can be designed efficiently, scalably and accurately to suit the specific requirements of a production. The manufacturer-independent Lawo VSM broadcast control system provides seamless integration of vehicle broadcast equipment and enables comprehensive coordination and control of the entire production network, streamlining workflows, reducing setup times and significantly increasing operational efficiency.
Optimized for 3D audio and Dolby Atmos
TVN-Ü8UHD was specifically developed for modern immersive audio production standards. The Lawo mc²56 MkIII is optimized for Dolby Atmos and 3D audio workflows and supports the 5.1.4 monitor setup used in the car. Thanks to acoustically calibrated sound rooms and Lawo processing technology, TVN teams can deliver first-class audio experiences to viewers around the world – whether at sporting events, concerts or large live events.
Technology for challenging events
The TVN-Ü8UHD made its debut at one of Europe's most prestigious football tournaments, seamlessly processing multiple standalone streams and delivering UHD/HDR content to a global audience.
With Lawo's IP and audio core technology, the TVN-Ü8UHD is well poised to shine as a mobile unit at high-profile events in the coming years.
“TVN-Ü8UHD represents a milestone in outdoor broadcasting, and thanks to our partnership with Lawo, we can offer a solution that offers unparalleled flexibility and scalability while meeting the highest standards in UHD/HDR video and 3D audio production,” explains Markus Osthaus, TVN CEO. Live production. “In audio, Lawo's IP technology is at the heart of this capability and enables us to meet the increasing demands of complex, large-scale production.”
