Baldur's Gate 3 is so good, it even turns wives into gaming

Even if you're over 60, you can still get into the games – says the husband, whose now-wife has played Baldur's Gate 3 for over 1,000 hours, proudly says.

After nearly a year, everyone should have understood by now that Baldur's Gate 3 is really good. But the fact that a game causes non-gamers to suddenly turn to video games and immerse themselves in them for over 1,000 hours is rare.

One husband reported that his wife was turned into a gamer by Baldur's Gate 3 and is now playing in the four-figure range – much to the delight of the community.

What happened? in Baldur's Gate 3 on Reddit The player “Saino_Moore” reveals that he has been a fan of games for years, but his wife did not benefit much from the method:

I'm 58 years old and have been playing pinball since it was invented. My wife of 62 years was raised differently and never played until we started dating. Then I played D&D with me and my friends. When I got the first game, I watched, then played the character interactions myself (with cheats). After the first two, I simply stopped playing video games.

So when BG3 came out, it was only a week before she started playing it after watching me play it for a while.

A few days ago I reached 1000 hours. She only plays in the evenings and on weekends. I'm glad she's enjoying it.

I know this isn't very interesting, but I wanted to share with you the importance of this game and this series. Stories and characters are important.

The community on Reddit seemed to see it differently as the story was viewed as “uninteresting.” Because the nearly 6,000 upvotes speak for themselves.

This is how society reacts: In addition to all the upvotes, there are a lot of comments about how happy we are for them both – on the one hand for the man who turned his wife into a gamer, and on the other hand for the woman who has access to being able to find such a hobby in her old age and is enjoying it now. Some comments:

  • “I believe your wife now qualifies as a player. Congratulations to you both!” -The_Cheeseman83
  • “This is so sweet! I hope this won't be taken in a bad way, but I love it when I see people from older generations who have the same hobbies as me. – _tetanus_
  • “I love her, she's a gamer too!” -Raviolini

What do women play? A little further from the original post, the woman also spoke out and wrote:

I have already played at least 6 games. I work in a job where I help people reintegrate into society after hospitalization. I love the depth of character development and that they all have such great arcs.

This helps me in my work in a weird way and gives me some ideas on how to build resilience. I'm currently playing as Gale (make him a storm wizard) and I want him to become a god and heal Karlash. She is my favorite. I didn't think I'd like Lae'zel at first either, but she convinced me!

There are many ways to enjoy Baldur's Gate 3. The voice actor for Astarion revealed one of the most curious things a few days ago: someone had a very special doll that was made for $20,000…
