New technology to improve breast cancer treatment outcomes: AMULET SOPHINITY from Fujifilm

^{*1 TFT panel equipped with hexagonal electrodes that convert X-rays into electrical charges and collect the electrical charges to detect X-ray information. Disturbances in electric field strength that occur at electrode corners generally increase as the corners become sharper. In our “HCP structure” TFT panels, the shape of the electrode is not square, like usual panels, but hexagonal, with more obtuse corners, which reduces the disturbance of the electric field strength. This improves charge collection efficiency and increases X-ray detection sensitivity by approximately 20% compared to square electrode plates (compared to our own square electrode devices).
