At RazerCon 2024, Razer made an exciting announcement for all fans of its products: the company will unlock the new Snap Tap feature as an update to Razer's existing software for all older keyboards. The new gaming feature was originally only introduced for the Huntsman V3 Pro line.
However, due to good success and positive feedback from the community, the California gaming hardware manufacturer decided to expand Snap Tap to other product lines and older Razer keyboards. Razer Blade gaming laptops should receive the update as well.
Razer's Snap Tap feature is disabled by default and can be turned on and off via the Razer Synapse 4 software. There's a reason for that: Snap Tap allows a character to seamlessly change direction mid-combat without having to release the corresponding button first. The character usually stops when two corresponding buttons are pressed at the same time. With Snap Tap, this problem is eliminated as the new directional button is activated instantly, making it possible to change course quickly and smoothly.
Since this feature results in lower lags and therefore faster response times, some development studios have called for Snap Tap to be banned in some competitive games, as is currently the case with “Counter-Strike 2”.
