Although it is an existing feature, mirrorless cameras released by Fujifilm allow you to specify the dynamic range.

The dynamic range of the large format is particularly impressive, and although there are instances where ISO sensitivity is limited, the gradation from highlights to shadows is expressed well, as if it were actually refined.

For example, if you are using the DR400, which has the largest dynamic range, the minimum is ISO 800. If you want to use a wide open F value on days when the sunlight is strong, it would be a good idea to use an ND filter.

Even in situations where exposure differences are difficult, there are situations where it is not possible to use lighting. And even in such cases, wouldn't the overall responsiveness be improved? I enjoyed shooting it.

Especially with the rainy season over, there will likely be many scenes where the sun's position is difficult and the contrast is extreme, but I think this feature will come in handy when taking portraits.

GFX100S II is equipped with a skin-softening effect. It has a skin-beautifying effect, and you can choose from three types: none, weak, and strong.

Most of the shooting this time was done with the setting set to “Strong.” There was no strange feeling that the skin texture was blurring smoothly, but the subject’s skin texture was preserved and expressed in detail, and the gradations were expressed beautifully while maintaining the right amount of sharpness.

When I asked Mr. Kuroha to look at the corrections before and after, he was happy with how clean the corrections were.

Skin texture is very important not only in cosplay but also in portrait photography. Both functions make corrections naturally, so using them with Dynamic Range will help reduce retouching work.
