Jonathan Bailey, Hayley Atwell, and Eddie Marsan have joined the cast of Heartstopper Season 3.
Atwell will play Diane, Nick's aunt (Kate Connor) who takes him on a summer holiday to Minorca and has some stern advice to impart about his relationship with Charlie (Joe Luke). Marsan will play Jeff, Charlie's wise and straightforward therapist who first appeared in the “Heartstopper” graphic novels. Billie will make a cameo appearance as Jack Maddox, the classic Instagram sensation and Charlie's crush.
According to the official description for the season, “Charlie would like to tell Nick that he loves him. Nick also has something important to say to Charlie. As summer break ends and the months speed up, the friends begin to realize that the school year will come with both its joys and its challenges. As they learn more about each other and their relationships As they plan social events and parties and begin to think about college choices, everyone must learn to rely on those they love when life doesn't go as planned.
“Heartstopper” is created and written by Alice Ozman based on her graphic novels of the same name. The eight-episode third season will premiere on Netflix in October. Andy Newbery directs the series, which is executive produced by Ozman, Patrick Walters, Ian Canning, Emil Sherman and Yuru Lin.
Along with Connor and Luke, the main cast includes William Gow, Yasmine Feeney, Corrina Brown, Kizzy Edghill, Toby Donovan, Jenny Valser, Rhea Norwood, and Leila Khan.
