A series of ups and downs from the first day of the majors
It is common for creators from all over the world to announce their predictions for the major tournament. However, this time too, expectations were betrayed in a good way, with a series of unexpected developments occurring from day one.
The opening match map, CAG vs Bleed, is “Consulate”. Bleed started off with an attack, but the CAG defense continued to intimidate with a string of opening kills. However, Bleed continued to advance steadily, using Mentalist C Montagne to push the ball well.
The map structure made it easier for attackers to move, and Bleed took a 4-2 lead, changing attack and defense. CAG took a time-out when the score was 5-2, but Bleed, who started hitting more aggressively, prevented them from making any changes to their strategy. Final score 7-3. CAG lost their first win to Bleed.
Team CGL, which will be making its international debut, will play against Korean team SANDBOX in Oregon. Initially, attention was focused on how they would enter the major tournaments, but the players showed no fear and played as usual. Sironeko, a deadly CGL player, has captivated the world with his razor-sharp fireworks, which he has also shown off in the local scene.
Since the attack started with Oregon, CGL suffered a sandbox in the first round. But they gradually responded during the battle and succeeded in switching attack and defense in a 3-3 format. On defense, Wh1skey played an active role by dominating 1v1 matches and scoring consecutive points. With a final score of 7-4, he achieved his first global victory.
After losing in the first match, CAG faced Talon in the lower bracket on the same day. CAG began their attack on the “Bank” map as if they were re-entering the big companies. Thanks to the efforts of the Black Ray players, they took a 5-1 lead and switched between attack and defence. They played flawless defense and won the first map by a score of 7-3.
CAG, who entered the second map “Borderland” from a defensive position, managed to move at his own speed here as well, adjusting his line of fire with Castle and Azami. The first half was one-sided, with the score 5-1. Even after switching offense and defence, the momentum continued and they won in a landslide, 7-1. With a map score of 2-0, we survived until day two.
TALON, who lost, will be eliminated from the Grand Tournament with SANDBOX. The regulations originally called for an increase in the number of Asian teams, but two of the nine Asian teams have already disappeared.
The Saudi Jikai team was the center of attention. Participating from the Middle East and North Africa region, which has just become eligible for the majors as of 2023. In addition, there was a visa issue at this tournament. The Commander and SRSly suddenly switch placesIt was a huge challenge amidst more uncertain factors.
Geekay responded to viewers’ expectations that he would do something. On the first day, Daikinboshi defeated 2021 World Champion Ninja in Pajamas 7-8. What was essentially seen as a bold strategy that was arguably a sign of reopening, ultimately spelled trouble for NiP. They managed to achieve a narrow but certain victory.
On this day, the Australian Bliss team also performed well. Their opponent is the Wolves, an EU force with an excellent balance between core siege power, leadership ability, and ideas. After a fierce battle in Mountain Villa, overtime was 6-8. He brought a precious victory to the Oceania Siege World.
The second day’s matches and highlights
Based on the results of the first day, the “Day 2” match was scheduled to take place on November 2nd. The first stage will be completed on this second day. The teams will be divided into 8 teams that will qualify for the second stage and 8 teams that will be eliminated from the tournament.
The Japanese national team’s matches were as follows.

- Conducted in BO1. The losing team will play BO3 in the lower bracket final starting at 3:30 on the same day.
- CAG Match (Bleed or LOS): November 2, 3:30 AM JST
- Conducted in BO3. The winning team qualifies for the second stage. If you lose, you will be eliminated from the tournament.
CGL will face off against Geekay, an envoy from the MENA League, for the first time. If they win, the top 16 will be determined. The CAG opponent remains unknown. However, since he is a BO3, even if it is a rematch with Bleed, he should be able to utilize his experience points to handle the match. Both teams have a great chance of getting past the first stage.
After the first phase, the “second phase” will start from November 4 after the mid-semester break. Will CAG and CGL be able to join together in the second phase, as SCARZ waits first? Let’s pay attention to the “Day 2” match that will start soon.
