ToxMod’s intelligence lies in its ability to interpret the intent behind speech. This is done by assessing the tone of voice, emotions and context of the conversation. However, detection of negative intent does not result in an automatic ban. Instead, the AI ​​notifies the supervisor, who decides to impose a possible penalty. To ensure proper oversight, all future conversations will be heard by Activision. This is to ensure that no abuse occurs. However, many users have concerns about data protection. Alternatively, users can completely disable voice chat to avoid this action.

This new technology complements text-based filtering. In addition, the reporting system is still available through which players can report participants who have problems. And in the fight against cheaters, the Ricochet program is used, which last month eliminated 14,000 fraudsters in one day.

The ToxMod beta is now available in North America and affects Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. Other continents, with the exception of Asia, will be included on November 10, the day Modern Warfare 3 releases.
