Bayreuther Technologie- & Energiegenossenschaft eG (BayTEG) held its Annual General Assembly on May 23, 2023, at which important personnel changes were announced.
The Co-operative Society gladly welcomes two new Board members and a new Supervisory Board member, who will work together to expand the renewable energies of the city and region of Bayreuth. The Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Professor Stefan Seifert, was supported in chairing the meeting by the Bayreuth District Administrator, Florian Weidmann, who had joined the cooperative that evening and promised his support for further projects.

Bettina Angerer and Rupert Paintmayer have been elected as new members of the Board of Directors. Ms. Angerer is a Certified Corporate Strategy Consultant and Crisis and Change Manager for SMEs. As office manager for BVMW Oberfranken (Der Mittelstand. BVMW eV), she is an essential component of the entrepreneurs’ nationwide network.
Mr. Bentmeyer is a trained electrician and has been successfully working as an independent network technician since 2006. As a founding member of the Hamsterbacke eV Association, he has already demonstrated his commitment to sustainable energy supply in the past. With his experience in the electrical engineering field, he will be a valuable addition to the BayTEG Board of Directors.
Furthermore, BayTEG managed to win Ms. Sybille Pichl, Mayor of Eckersdorf Municipality, as a new member of the Supervisory Board. With her experience and commitment in municipal administration, she will work to strengthen the supervision and control function of the cooperative and support the successful implementation of the strategic objectives of BayTEG.
BayTEG’s most important projects, which aim to help reduce energy consumption and increase the percentage of renewable energy in Bayreuth, were also presented at the General Assembly. These are the following projects in Bayreuth:
- Triple gym on Red Main
- Center
- BTS/TCAl indoor tennis courts
Bayreuth Technology & Energy Cooperative is committed to promoting renewable energy generation in the city and region of Bayreuth. Through a community economy and the active participation of citizens, members become equal owners, beneficiaries, and designers of local energy projects. With new board members and a new supervisory board member, BayTEG will continue to move forward in its mission and successfully advance Bayreuth’s energy transition.
