Brembo establishes venture capital unit Brembo Ventures.
Brembo
The brake manufacturer’s newly formed Brembo Ventures unit aims to make strategic investments in emerging technology companies on a global scale. Their products or production processes must primarily deal with areas of interest for automotive applications such as artificial intelligence, big data, sensors, mechatronics, energy efficiency and sustainability. This should push forward the development of new solutions.
Brembo Ventures has just acquired a 6.8% stake in PhotonPath. The Italian company was founded in 2019 as a branch of the Polytechnic School of Milan and develops products based on integrated photonics. With the investment, Brembo wants to accelerate the development of new solutions for digitizing braking systems. The new unit’s duties will also include coordinating relationships with startups.
