[معلومات Mac]Share passwords with your family and friends with macOS Sonoma's new Shared Password Sets feature! – Watch the computer

On Mac, you can use AirDrop to share passwords and passkeys. However, you can't share with people who are not within range of your AirDrop connection, so in this case, try using the Shared Password Set added in the latest version of macOS Sonoma. If you use this feature to create a group of trusted family members, friends, etc., each member can add and change passwords, which is very convenient.

Open your Mac System Preferences and find it in the sidebar.[パスワード]Click to see the passwords and passkeys saved on your Mac. You can also share your password or passkey from here.

Two ways to share passwords

Nowadays, when using various services (network services) available on the Internet, it is always necessary to log in with an ID and password.

For services you use alone, you simply create and remember an ID and password, but what do you do if the service is shared with someone you trust, like a family member, friend, or co-worker?

It would be convenient if each member could easily share IDs and passwords instead of having to obtain them individually.

That's why Mac offers two ways to securely share passwords and passkeys without having to tell them verbally or by handing over notes. Let us introduce the use and benefits of each.

Points to note when sending via AirDrop

Using AirDrop this way, you can easily share passwords just like sending content like photos or documents.

AirDrop communicates directly peer-to-peer without going over the Internet, and data is encrypted to ensure security.

However, when you send an AirDrop, all people nearby who have allowed AirDrop will be displayed, so be careful not to send to the wrong person.

Also, when sharing using AirDrop, even if the sharing source or sharing destination changes the password, the other party will not be notified.

For example, there is a possibility that your password could be changed without permission from the person you share it with, making it unusable at source, so limit the number of people you share it with to people you trust.

Even if you change the password of the person you are sharing with, the password of the person you are sharing with will remain the same. The changes will not be automatically reflected

Delete password from Shared Password Set

When you use a shared password set, there may be times when you want to stop sharing passwords.

In this case, move the password from the group to My Password.

You can also delete the password from within the group, but in this case it will also be deleted from My Password, so be careful.

However, even if you accidentally delete the password, it will be saved in Recently Deleted and can be restored to Groups or My Passwords within 30 days.

In addition, if you no longer need to share your password, you can also delete the relevant member from the Shared Password Group.

However, even if you remove someone from the group, that member will still be able to use the shared password, so, if necessary, change the shared password as soon as possible.

If you want to share securely, use a Shared Password Set

As we've explained so far, there are two ways to share passwords and passcodes on Mac: AirDrop and Shared Password Groups.

If you want to share passwords easily, you can use AirDrop, but if you want to share more securely, we recommend using Shared Password Pool.

Even if you want to share passwords temporarily, you can create and share a custom group, and when you no longer need to share passwords, remove members from the group and change the shared password immediately.
