YouTube star Hank Green suffers from Hodgkin lymphoma, says in new video — Deadline

In a stunning video posted Friday, veteran YouTube personality Hank Green told his three million subscribers that he has Hodgkin lymphoma.

Green has been around since the early days of YouTube, and has been active since 2007. He also hosts a podcast with his brother, John Green, author of “The Fault in Our Stars.”

“So there have been a few times over the last few weeks where this has become more and more real,” Green said above.

“I noticed my lymph nodes were large. I talked to my doctor. She said, ‘Probably nothing. We’ll send you an ultrasound. I got an ultrasound, and the tech in the ultrasound room was like, ‘I’m going to see a doctor.'” He continued, “This Not what you want to happen.”

The biopsy reported grim news.

“When you’re in the American health care system, you don’t expect things to go quickly,” he added. “This is not what he does. This is not what he looks like. When he starts to get a little proficient, he is actually very frustrated.”

Green will soon start chemotherapy, and said he’s grateful for his support system.

“All the time I spent investing in friendships, even when they were hard trying to keep them strong, even when I was busy, trying to spend time with them was fun in the moment and wise in the long run.” I really needed friends these few weeks. past, and I was so grateful to have them.”

Green also assured his fans that he maintains a positive outlook and will “play it by ear” regarding his upcoming projects.
