The following day, she joined the royal family to celebrate King Charles' birthday on the balcony of Buckingham Palace at Trooping the Colour.

After making two high-profile public appearances this year, the princess will now return to life away from the spotlight while she continues treatment.

The Welsh couple are set to spend the warm summer at their country home, Anmer Hall, on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England.

“She won't have to be the center of attention,” an insider told the newspaper. “Being with her family and being herself will give her energy. There will be plenty of time to focus on her recovery.”

Middleton, accompanied by her husband Prince William and their three children George, Charlotte and Louis, is likely to meet King Charles and Queen Camilla at Balmoral Castle later, where Their Majesties will spend the summer.
