Billionaire owner Elon Musk said, in a tweet on Saturday, that Twitter Blue will likely return “next weekend.” Twitter on Friday suspended its recently announced $8 blue check sign-up service, as fake accounts proliferated.
Maybe next weekend

The coveted blue check mark was previously reserved for verified accounts of politicians, famous personalities, journalists and other public figures. But the subscription option, open to anyone willing to pay, was rolled out earlier this week to help Twitter boost revenue while Musk struggles to retain advertisers.
Several users reported on Friday that the new blue check mark subscription option had disappeared, while a source told Reuters that the offer had been dropped.
“To combat impersonation, we have added an ‘official’ label to some accounts,” the Twitter support account – which is labeled ‘official’ – tweeted on Friday.
The poster was originally presented on Wednesday – but Musk was “killed” only hours later.
On Thursday, Musk warned, in his first company-wide email, that Twitter would not be able to “survive the next economic slowdown” if it failed to increase subscription revenue to offset falling advertising income, three people who have seen the letter told Reuters.
