“People make the difference”
Stefan Pfister, CEO of KPMG Switzerland, talks about the use of artificial intelligence in consulting.
How useful is generative intelligence in consulting work?
The potential of artificial intelligence will take consulting to a new level. We are only at the beginning of this development, but we are already seeing the benefits that arise from the use of artificial intelligence. We have recently rolled out several internal AI applications.
What weaknesses do you see?
The potential of AI can only be fully exploited if it can be based on a robust technological infrastructure with high data quality. This foundation is essential for gaining in-depth, data-driven insights and developing innovative solutions. We currently find that this basis often does not yet exist.
Where are you already using AI?
We work with global technology companies such as Microsoft and SAP, but also with innovative startups. At KPMG we already use AI in auditing. Thanks to our cloud auditing platform, we gain a comprehensive view of the data and can identify specific patterns and anomalies more quickly and accurately.
What do you expect for the future?
In the future, technology will play a greater role in business and society, and therefore also in consulting. But developing tailored solutions and earning customer trust can't be done by any technology. That's why I'm convinced that we humans will continue to make a crucial difference in the future.
