1 Spawn – meaning of the term in games
What does spawning mean?
Spawnen (pronounced “spur”) is English and means to appear. In games, this describes how characters enter the map. As long as they are not visible, there are no NPCs for the player either. You have to appear first. You can think of it as a board game where the pieces appear on the board.
The term spawning is no longer limited to game worlds. When someone appears in the real world, players like to refer to it as a mating. If you don’t see something or someone coming, it shows up.
What is revival?
Players can also post. If a spawn occurs after a player is defeated, it is called a repawn (pronounced “rie-spur”). The locations where players are given birth points are called “birth points”. These points can be selected by the game or distributed randomly. However, there is a risk of spawn camping, especially with fixed spawn points.
Because re-emergence is often associated with a previous loss, it does not occur immediately. The time to wait for a postback is determined by the postback timer (pronounced “rie-spur-teimer”). This time varies by game and can increase over the course of the game.
But players alone cannot come back to life. In some games, non-playable characters can also be re-appeared. This is especially necessary in single-player games, otherwise the game world will be empty over time.
