Watch Jason Isbell's Performance at the 2024 Democratic National Convention

Jason Isbell was one of several musicians who took to the stage at the opening night of the 2024 Democratic National Convention earlier this evening. Taking to the stage at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, the American singer-songwriter performed “Something More Than Free,” the lead single from his Grammy-winning 2015 studio album. In 2021, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit was released. Georgia Bluea charity album of star-studded covers to celebrate President Joe Biden's win in the state. The band has since followed up that fun release with their 2023 studio album Weather vanes.

Isbell wasn't the only artist tonight to show support for Vice President Kamala Harris, who was already beat But the vote is set to be officially certified by roll call at the Democratic National Convention this week. The opening night of the Democratic National Convention also saw Mickey Guyton sing her 2021 hit “All American,” as well as James Taylor perform his beloved classic “You’ve Got A Friend.” Earlier this month, Bon Iver performed at a rally in Wisconsin for Harris as well.
