Despite massive staff cuts, Facebook’s parent company Meta wants to open up new target groups. The focus is currently on the gaming section.
Meta is looking for new ideas. how Business Insider report nowthe group, which also owns Instagram and WhatsApp in addition to Facebook, wants to break into the gaming sector.
Despite the tense situation, Meta wants to continue expanding its business. The company laid off 11,000 employees last November and another 10,000 in March. Despite recently announcing about 4,000 additional job cuts, the company now wants to invest in a new area. Games are being developed for the Quest headset.

According to an inside source, Meta wants to use traditional games to develop its own research division, Reality Labs. It appears the cuts announced this week aren’t meant to affect gaming teams.
To accommodate the new focus on gaming, the company’s headphones are slated for an upgrade. Quest headset hardware needs to be modified so that it can be better used for gaming.
Additionally, it goes on to say, Meta plans to bring a “big game” to the quest store. The company had already bought eight VR game studios in 2019 and announced that it would release a VR version of “GTA San Andreas” for Quest in October 2021.
