ESIX was recently in the spotlight during the 2023 Government Leadership Summit. UTS teamed up with TechTables, a design and technology podcast, to bring Govtech to San Antonio.
Founder of Tech Tables Go toast He said the purpose of the summit is to “build on the university’s research excellence through real-time collaborative roundtables and boldly leap into the future on the ESIX gaming arena at Six Flags Fiesta Texas.”
Local attendees included Craig Hopkinschief information officer for the City of San Antonio; Jo Anna Alvarado, director of innovative technology at Opportunity Home San Antonio, formerly known as the San Antonio Housing Authority; And Kendra KetchumVice President of Information Management Technology and Director of Information Technology at UTSA.
The event, which was also a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, included a gala dinner at Mi Tierra Café y Panaderia. The dinner was an opportunity for participants to show their support for the city’s Hispanic leaders. The gathering at Mi Tierra also served to honor UTSA, a Hispanic serving organization that recently received re-certification of the prestigious Seal Excelencia.
For students enrolled in the Bold Careers program, the summit was an opportunity to witness the exchange of ideas first-hand among participants.
